We called the trip "Bishop Base Camp!" Eleven hikers from the Around the Bend Friends made the 4 hour drive up to Bishop, CA for four days of strenuous hiking plus a little dessert at the Ancient Bristlecone Forest. The four main hikes included Mono Pass, Dade Lake Loop, Blue Lake (plus), and Piute Pass. The hikes were filled with gorgeous scenery of craggy granite peaks and large snow patches. The lakes were filled to the brim and the creeks were flowing strong. Every day, the weather was threatening to rain on our parade. However, nary a drop was felt ... okay, two drops! In the late afternoon, hikers gathered for a dinner at one of the local restaurants in the town of Bishop. Afterwards, we returned to our beautiful abode at the Creekside Inn. Thanks go to David and Brenda for a fantastic trip of organized hikes. A job well done!

Watch for the upcoming blogs for these hikes!
