Lee Peak via North Ridge - 8/21/18

First Pic from Lee Peak North Ridge

There were eight hikers on today's very strenuous hike up Lee Peak. It was a new route for the club ... and a difficult one. Only hikers familiar with 3rd and 4th class rock climbing should attempt this route. Jerry sent these impressive photos and a few words.

The route began at the Upper Bristlecone Trailhead then turned left onto the No Name junction. Soon after that, they turned left onto the Wallace Canyon junction and climbed up to the Wallace Saddle. The ridge to the left at the saddle is Lee Peak's North Ridge and up they went! Helmets would have been useful!

Today, eight hikers ascended the north ridge towards Lee Peak.  It was cool and very windy.  Everyone made it without serious injuries.  Some complained about the exposed scrambling which we avoided on the way down.  A fun time was had by all! ~ Jerry and Cheryl

5.5 miles; 2700 feet elevation gain; 4.5 hours
