Just a note about the Horseshoe Bend Overlook: The park has been redone very nicely. Instead of hiking to the overlook by climbing a hill and dropping down (then reversing that to return), they built a nice wide path that hikes around the hill. There are places to rest in the shade and the ascent slopes are more gentle. The parking lot is mostly paved. But, there is still a large area at the cliff where there are no guard rails. Hold onto your children and pets! Entrance fee = $10 per car.
