Hoover Dam Bridge Peak - 11/18/16

Hoover Dam Bridge Peak from Hoover Dam

Climbing to Ridge

Descent in Ascent

Nine on the Peak
On Friday, nine club hikers climbed up to Hoover Dam Bridge Peak. They started from the Goldstrike Canyon Trailhead and soon climbed up to the ridge on the left of the canyon. From there, it is an up, down and up scramble to the farthest point on the ridge. At the peak, a tremendous view of the dam and bridge is seen and the Colorado River flows about 1000 feet below in Black Rock Canyon. The descent includes a drop into Goldstrike Canyon then a beautiful scramble up between the walls. Laszlo sent some photos from the morning and two photos are Kay's from the archives.

5 miles; 1600 feet elevation gain; approx. 3.5 hours
