Thursday's Group on Observation Point

There were two hikes to Observation Point this week. The classic Zion NP hike begins at the Weeping Rock shuttle stop and climbs a large set of switchbacks before passing through a beautiful slot of Echo Canyon. More switchbacks that are carved into the rock wall take you to the plateau above. The trail then circles around to a point where you can see Zion Canyon and Angel's Landing below you. Eleven hikers were on the hike with these photos.

Welcome to our website!

As a group of people who have climbed over the age 50 mark and still have very young hearts (pun intended), we welcome new members and guests to our club. It is easy to join. Just show up at a hike rated easy or easy moderate and pay your yearly dues of $10. If you aren't sure about it, be our guest for one hike. You will be required to sign a waiver of liability and a release of your image to be used on this website if you happen to walk inadvertently in front of a camera.

General Info & Guidelines

Hike Coordinators have the right to refuse a hiker for any reason.
Carry a whistle.
If you packed it in, then pack it out.
Come prepared with proper clothing & shoes, water, nourishment, hiking sticks & gloves (if needed). Shirt & Shoes Required!
Sign in on every hike ... and don't forget to sign out at the end!
Either stay with the group or notify coordinator of your change in plans.
The AtBF hike coordinator only makes suggestions. The rest is up to your good judgment.
Carry ID and emergency info.
Radio usage is encouraged.
Name tag wearing is also encouraged.
We love them but service dogs only ... sorry. Please keep in mind, many of our hikes are not dog-friendly.
